Committed to our Community
I've lived permanently in Algonquin Highlands since 1990, having grown up as a 3rd generation cottager on Beech Lake.
I was elected to my first term as a Councillor in 2006 and was acclaimed to the position of Mayor in both the 2010 and 2014 elections. I was elected by my County Council peers to be the Warden of Haliburton County in 2013 and again 2016.
Algonquin Highlands is stable, financially secure and enjoying impressive growth rates in population. We make annual investments into infrastructure, roads, trails, culture, heritage and sport, all while having one of the lowest taxation rates in Eastern Ontario.
Good governance is based in progressive, collaborative decision-making, doing the appropriate research, understanding the issues, asking the right questions, seeking public input and staying adaptable in continually-changing landscape.
Feel free to reach out anytime to discuss or enquire about any issue.
